01Who we are

Folliqle is run by [Company name] Ltd (company registration in progress; company number [number], registered address [address]). We are the "controller" of the information described here. Contact us at survey@folliqle.com.

02What we collect

• Your Hair Check answers. For example your age band, sex, hair type, how you care for your hair, changes you've noticed and roughly what you spend. You can skip optional questions.
• Some health-related answers, if you choose to give them: for example pregnancy or menopause, scalp symptoms, or a hair loss diagnosis. Your ethnic background is also asked, and it's optional. These count as "special category" information, so we only use them with your explicit consent, which you give on the consent screen.
• Contact details, only if you choose to share them: your name, email and the first half of your postcode (and, for hair professionals, a salon name and contact). They are stored separately from your answers, so your answers stay anonymous.
• Email updates, if you sign up on folliqle.com: your email address and when you signed up. It is kept separately from survey answers.
• Website. This site and the survey do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and do not track you across other sites. Our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security, for a short time.

03How we use it

• To understand how people care for their hair and scalp, and what would help. This is research only.
• If you asked us to, to contact you about future research, a short chat, or new hair products and services.
• If you signed up for updates, to email you news about Folliqle. Every email will let you unsubscribe.
• We do not give a diagnosis or medical advice.
• We never sell your information or share it with advertisers.

04Our legal basis

Your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), and your explicit consent for health-related information (Article 9(2)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us. This won't affect anything we did before you withdrew.

05Where it's stored and who can see it

Answers are stored in Google Sheets in Folliqle's Google account. Contact details go in a separate tab. Only a small number of authorised people at Folliqle can access them. Google acts as our processor. It may process data outside the UK, under its standard data protection terms and UK-approved safeguards. Our website host is Netlify.

06How long we keep it

Survey answers: up to 24 months, then deleted or fully anonymised. Contact details and email sign-ups: until you ask us to stop contacting you (or unsubscribe), or 24 months after we last contacted you, whichever is sooner.

07Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you can ask to:

• see the information we hold about you
• correct it
• delete it
• limit or object to how we use it
• receive a copy to take elsewhere
• withdraw your consent

Email survey@folliqle.com. Survey answers are anonymous, so we can usually only find your details if you left contact details. We'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.

08Children

The Hair Check is for people aged 18 or over.

09Changes

If we change this notice, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
